Good Old Days

Counting minutes on the wall-clock

Or bored striking at a keyboard

On an evening, pensive, lonely

I reminisce…

Simple conversations

Over late evening walks

With friends close

Now drifted apart

Discussions long,

Over ways of life

Benign gossips

About common dislikes

Advice compulsory,

To dispel all worry

For there was no hurry

Nor any jury.

Sharing loneliness

Memories about home

Friends and school

Beyond which we had flown

Good old days when

There was time for walks,

Friends who were a call away

And roads that led nowhere.
